The rare books and printed materials collection consists of valuable and unique items that document the history, society, and culture of Lebanon, the Maronites and the Region. The items include rare books, maps, photographs, and other publications in many languages collected over the years.
The rare books and printed materials collection also focuses on collecting and acquiring books written by significant Lebanese authors in all major languages. The department also has

a tradition of collecting items in the fields of architecture, industrial arts, and design. Other rare books and printed materials are collected because of their rarity, significance, or beauty as objects. The department acquires and preserves geographical maps of Lebanon to serve the research interests of academics, students and administrators at NDU and support the wider research community, both nationally and internationally. |
