La littérature libanaise d’expression française est Vieille de plus d’un siècle et demi. Elle prend son point de depart â partir de l’introduction de l’enseignement du français au Collège d’Antoura au début du dix-neuvième siècle. Ancien élève du collège d’Antoura, Chécri Ghanem est le père de cette littérature. La littérature libanaise d’expression française groupe un grand nombre d’auteurs qui se répartissent dans tous les pays francophones comme le Liban, la France et le Canada. Elle a gagné ses lettres de noblesse grâce a un grand nombre d’écrivains tells Georges Schéhadé, Andrée Chedid et Amin Maalouf, récemment élu membre de l’Académie Française. La présente bibliographie est une mise au point de cette littérature unique qui groupe des milliers d’ouvrages dans tous les genres littéraires.

Le professeur Georges Labaki est le Président du Conseil d’administration de l’École Nationale d’Administration (ENA) et professeur à l’Université de Notre Dame de Louaizé et Conseiller auprès de l’Institut de la Pensée libanaise. Il est titulaire d’un Doctorat d’État en Droit de l’Université de Paris-I, Panthéon-Sorbonne et d’un Doctorat en Littérature contemporaine d’expression française de l’Université de Paris XII, Val-de-Marne. Le professeur Labaki a enseigné la littérature française aux universités de Maryland et Georgetown aux États-Unis. Il a contribué au Dictionnaire des Littératures de langue française publié chez Bordas. Il est également l’auteur de plusieurs articles publiés dans l’Encyclopédie Universalis et dans d’autres revues et publications internationales. Le professeur Labaki est Chevalier de l’Ordre national du Mérite.

Dr. Georges Labaki is the Chairman of the Board of the National School of Administration ENA in Lebanon. Professor Labaki has taught several courses both at the graduate and undergraduate levels in different areas such as: constitutional law, administrative law, public administration, law and society, business law, public international law, the Middle East after World War I, the Middle East in Contemporary World, Regulatory politics, Public policy analysis, and international trade law. He was the Director of the Division of Affairs and Diplomacy at Notre Dame University, 1992-1994, as well as the Chairman of the Department of Management of International Affairs and Diplomacy, 1992- 1994. Professor Labaki worked as a consultant in France, Egypt, Jordan, Yemen, Tunisia, Morocco and Niger. Upon the recommendation of the French Minister Alain Juppé the French President François Mitterand awarded the Medallion of the “Ordre National du Mérite”, which is one of the highest academic distinctions in France created by General Charles de Gaulle. He has received other distinctions such as the Silver Medal of John Paul II, a Certificate of Appreciation of the Center for International Development and Conflict Management and the medal of the Greek School of the Public Administration. He attended several national and international conferences, meetings, seminars that earned him recognition. He holds a Certificate of completion of five intensive seminars –equivalent to Masters in Public management- on Public Management at the National School of Public Administration of the University of Quebec. As an expert in Lebanese Public Administration, Professor Labaki gave the opening lecture on the teaching of public management in the National School of Administration in Lebanon. He is listed in the Who’ Who in the USA, the Who’s Who in East Coast, and the Who’s Who in Lebanon. Professor Labaki is the author of four books and a big number of articles in Arabic, French and English in national and international refereed journal and a number of articles in the Encyclopedia Universalis. Dr. Labaki is an international lecturer. He gave lectures in various international institutions and attended many international conferences. The Special Collections Department at NDU Libraries holds a collection of DVDs for Dr. Georges Labaki (Faculty member at FLPS - FBAE, Management and Marketing) .This collection includes series of TV episodes. Each episode introduces a book chosen and presented by Dr. Labaki on Tele Lumiere channel.
