This book is an information resource for those interested in Lebanese migration or comparative research in migration studies. It brings together work from a variety of disciplines, including history, sociology, ethnology, political science, media, economics, poetry, and literature. The book begins with an introduction by Dr. Oswaldo Truzzi on the history of the Lebanese emigration to Brazil, followed by over 500 titles, references, addresses, films and documentary titles, bilateral agreements, associations, research centers, archives, newspaper and magazine titles, religious sites, hospitals, embassies and consulates, streets, and Internet Uniform Resource Locators (URL), among other references, all sources relevant to a comprehensive study of Lebanese migration to Brazil. The volume concludes with four broad indexes: by name, by place, by subject, and by titles of magazines, newspapers, and reviews. The book is in English and the titles are in their original languages with English translation. This book is the result of the cooperative efforts be¬tween the Lebanese Emigration Research Center of Notre Dame University in Lebanon and Mr. Khatlab. It pays tribute to all Lebanese emigrants, who have had the courage to traverse the seas and to transcend cultural barriers in order to fulfill their aspirations.
