God in Multicultural Society: Religion, Politics, and Globalization brings to publication the papers organized in January 2003 by Dr. Edward Alam of NDU and Dr. Habib Malik of LAU. The book’s theme revolves around what was the key-note paper of seminar: “Hermeneutics of Tolerance in a Multicultural Society,” by George F. McLean. Other contributions include Edward J. Alam’s “Globalization’s Myth of Multiculturalism,” Habib C. Malik’s “Varieties of Pluralism and the Limitations of Inter- Religious Dialogue Between Christian and Muslims,” Eugene R. Sensenig-Dabbous’ “What is the added Valude of ‘Religion’ in Multicultural Discourse,” Nicloas Abou Mrad’s “Am I my Brother’s Keeper?” Boulos Wehbe’s “Two Religions in Lebanon: Seeing God in the Other,” Naji Oueijan’s “Perceptions and Misconceptions: Islam in Nineteenth Century Art and Literature,” and Richard Woods’ “Meister Eckhart: Preacher and Teacher.”
