NDU Libraries Facilities, Services & Resources - COVID-19 Update

In-Person services at all NDU Libraries locations are available during normal University operating hours from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Remote services to library users will continue to be provided as follows:

E-resources: A rich collection of electronic resources that support teaching, learning and research are available by clicking on the relevant links below:

Scanning materials: Library users may request the scanning of limited sections of print materials held in the NDU Libraries collections, including current course reserves, by sending an email to circulation@ndu.edu.lb. Library staff will scan (in accordance with national and international copyright laws) and email the material as PDF within the current or next working day.

Borrowing print materials: Library users may request to borrow print materials either by visiting the library in-person or by sending an email to circulation@ndu.edu.lb with their full name, ID#, and the Shelf (where applicable), Shelfmark and Location of the item(s) they wish to borrow. When the materials are available for pick-up the user will be notified by email regarding how and when they can receive the materials. Materials housed at other campus libraries may be requested and borrowed from your preferred campus library.

Returning borrowed items: Library users may return any items borrowed from the NDU Libraries to the nearest campus library. Library users may also self-renew their borrowed materials online (see below) as long as they are current employees or currently registered students.

Self-Renewal of Library Materials: Library users are encouraged to log in to their Library Account Details in order to check due dates for borrowed materials and self-renew library materials to avoid accruing overdue fines.

Inter-Library Loan (ILL) Services: Request copies of articles or book chapters not currently available in the NDU Libraries collections by filling in the ILL Request Form. Materials will be provided as PDF via email. ILL loan requests for print books available at partner libraries within Lebanon only may also be requested by filling in the ILL Request Form.

Research and Instruction Services:

  • Chat Service: From any page in the NDU Libraries website, click on the chat/email icon on the lower right-hand side of your screen to ask questions or get research help.
  • Research Guides: All Faculties have a general library research guides. Faculty members may request the creation of subject specific library guides by sending an email to reference@ndu.edu.lb.
  • Meet with a librarian online: Schedule an individual online research consultation via Microsoft Teams at reference@ndu.edu.lb. Please schedule at least 24 hours ahead of time.
  • Library Instruction Sessions: Faculty members may book online library instruction sessions for their classes conducted via Microsoft Teams by submitting a Session Reservation form, at least one week in advance of the preferred date.
